Olepolos is one of the leading holiday destinations in Kenya. It’s ranked among the best Nyama Choma joints in Nairobi and ideal place to take your family for holiday and entertainment.
Olepolos means “place in the middle” and this joint is in the middle of an enchanting view, encircled by the Ngong Hills – peaks in a ridge along the Rift Valley. The hills were made famous by the opening of Karen Blixen’s epic colonial tale, Out of Africa: “I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of the Ngong Hills.” Dining here is epic too: waiters promise a wait of “not less than an hour”. Along with the leisurely meals, many a business deal is cooked up, stewed over and carved out over the wooden tables. Filled with eating spots that include both the convivial and the secluded, guests are never far from thorn-tree acacias, yellow weaver birds, the odd wild zebra, hyena and even leopard. Dish of the day is always nyama choma – Swahili for grilled meat – but punters can pick their own (live) goat from local Maasai herdsman and plump for a fore leg, hind leg, ribs or some of the choicer parts of the animal. While liver, intestine and goat’s head soup are local favourites, one large group of Chinese businessmen recently made a special request of fried goat’s testicles, a new one for the attentive – and accommodating – Maasai owner.

The good thing about Olepolos is that the meals are fresh and meat is from either goat or cow…there is no donkey meat.

If you want to enjoy nyama chom at its best drive to Olepolos situated away from the city making it even an ideal location.The view points are breath taking,the taste of their food is amazing although they take a while to prepare the food its worth all the wait.They have a swimming pool to help you escape from the scorching sunlight!
The ambiance is beautiful. You get a nice view of Ngong hills and the surrounding area. The swimming pool is nicely built and clean. Someone can enjoy the swimming while viewing the surrounding.
